TIP: MSQ GPS Navigation There is no denying that GPS Chartplotters have made finding our way around on water easier, but it's important to remember they do have their limitations.
There's no substitute for keeping your eyes open at the helm, and staying aware of your surroundings.
Know how to use your GPS and check the reading at regular intervals, because the intended course may not match your surroundings - and if things don't look right then it's a good idea to refer to a paper chart or Beacon to Beacon.
And finally never forget to update your charts, as outdated GPS charts can cause serious boating accidents. Navigational aids and other structures change over time… as always you're the skipper, you're responsible so be well prepared before heading out on your next trip.
