YAM SeaJay 485 Crabbing When the weather turns bad, you can often find yourself watching that offshore fishing trip, literally was away down the gurgler. But it's often the best time to go in search of crabs as the crustaceans are generally in best supply after rainfall and when you've got big tides.
Yamaha has just released it's first-ever 70 horsepower four-stroke outboard, and it's perfect for running around inlets and creeks. We put it on the back of a SeaJay 485 for a spin in the water around Turkey Beach.
It's best to leave crab pots in the water overnight, or at least for a full tide change. Crabs lie dormant during the winter months, so it's best to get them just before the change of season when they've got plenty of size about them.
